Maine’s energy efficiency industry is growing fast — and the demand for skilled contractors is growing with it. EnergizeME Academy was built to make sure Maine workers and contractors are ready to meet that moment.

Funded by the Maine Department of Energy Resources, EnergizeME Academy is a statewide workforce development program designed specifically for energy efficiency contractors — whether you’re just starting out, looking to level up your skills, or ready to grow your business.

EnergizeME Academy has four straightforward goals:

  • Give experienced contractors the upskilling opportunities they deserve
  • Prepare contractor businesses to take full advantage of available rebates and programs
  • Expand the availability of qualified energy efficiency professionals across the state

EnergizeME Academy is led by the Association of Energy Services Professionals (AESP), a national organization with deep roots in energy efficiency education and workforce development. AESP brings the industry expertise, training curriculum, and professional certifications that make this program worth your time.

Supporting the effort is The JPI Group, providing the technology infrastructure, workforce expertise, and operational support that keeps EnergizeME running statewide — from our online learning platform to in-person training sessions across Maine.

Meet The Maine Department of Energy Resources (DOER)

The Maine Department of Energy Resources (DOER) leads energy policy, planning, and development for the state. DOER provides policy leadership and technical assistance, develops energy programs, monitors energy markets, and reports on heating fuel and electricity prices, among other activities. DOER works in partnership with various state agencies, federal and local officials, industry, nonprofit interests, and academia on energy issues.
