First Course:  Cost Effectiveness
Date: Tuesday, July 12, 2022
Time: 1:00 – 5:00 PM (ET)

Course Description:

Cost Benefit Tests have the power to make or break a program. If TRC, SCT, UCT, PCT, RIM, and RVT just look like alphabet soup to you – then this is for you. Suitable for implementers, marketers and business developers, or evaluators who want to get back to basics. This course explains the different tests, the inputs, and how to run the tests. Understand how various inputs affect cost effectiveness. Be prepared to do some math and have a few “aha” moments.

By completing this course, you will be able to:

  • Describe the purpose, context, and principles of assessing the cost-effectiveness of energy efficiency programs.
  • Describe and explain the National Standard Practice Manual.
  • Explain and discuss the outputs of the various tests.

*Attendees must earn 70% or higher on the final course test in order to earn 0.4 CEUs.

Second Course:  Attribution & Net-to-Gross
Date: Tuesday, July 19, 2022
Time: 1:00 – 5:00 PM (ET)

Course Description:

You have a beautiful program in your hands – planned and executed. Now it’s time to measure the energy impacts that can confidently be attributed to your program. The importance of attribution is easy enough to understand but the methods are an entirely different story. What is Net-to-Gross, spillover, free ridership and market effects anyway…and how do they all interact in calculating NTG? Baffled? Don’t be.

Learning Outcomes:

  • Describe why attribution is important to DSM programs
  • Define and articulate how free ridership, spillover, market effects, and NTG impacts DSM programs
  • Understand the various methods used to estimate NTG

*Attendees must earn 70% or higher on the final course test in order to earn 0.4 CEUs.

The course will cover tracking systems, verification, measurement, and evaluation of program achievements. This course will cover both the “how-to” and the “why-I-should-care” aspects of key impact activities.

By completing this course, you will be able to:

  • Determine appropriate impact evaluation methods.
  • Understand and apply impact evaluation knowledge that grounds and guides professional practice.
