DEI Workshop: How We Can Work to Diversify the EE Industry

AESP is accredited by the International Association for Continuing Education and Training (IACET). AESP complies with the ANSI/IACET Standard, which is recognized internationally as a standard of excellence in instructional practices. As a result of this accreditation, AESP is authorized to issue the IACET CEU. AESP instructors disclose in advance that they have no interest in any product, service, or material discussed during the course. DEI Workshop 2 will consist of three courses.

Course One: How did we get here?

This course will examine the history of exclusion within the EE industry. This course will also explore the growth the industry has made on the journey to becoming much more just, equitable, diverse, inclusive. 

 After this course, you will be able to:

  • Demonstrate the importance of data in planning and showing DEI/JEDI growth 
  • Explain how this journey starts with the individual 
  • Describe how to make self-assessments and plans

Course Two: How to unlearn and reteach?

This course will explore ways to identify bad behaviors, unlearn them, and reteach familiar proven principles and concepts.

After this course, you will be able to: 

  • Identify ways to correct behaviors and habits that are counterproductive to the DEI/JEDI journey
  • Classify the theory of change concepts and principles
  • Examine the neo network and how to use within the DEI/JEDI process

Course Three: Where does the EE DEI journey begin?

This course will map out the steps needed to devise a proper plan to impact the EE industry toward a robust DEI/JEDI change.

After this course, you will be able to:

  • Determine the power everyone has within the theory of change process 
  • Design the process of developing a logic model 
  • Summarize the impact of DEI/JEDI in everyday life 

 *Attendees must earn an 70% or higher on the final course test in order to earn 0.4 CEUs.

Scott Alan Davis is the Vice President of Inclusion and Economic Development at SEEL, LLC. Scott’s career has spanned throughout community development, specifically focusing on holistic community planning and development and capacity building.

Cancellations received after the cutoff date and no-shows will not receive a refund (cash or points). AESP reserves the right to cancel a training course at any time with reasonable notice given to all participants.
