AI For Energy Services Companies 101 – History, Basics, and Overview of Tools

Course Description:
This is an entry-level course on AI and machine learning for the energy services industries. We will review the history of AI, work through common prompt-engineering frameworks, and introduce automation tools. This course will lay the foundation for the following two courses on April 16 and 23, but each course can be taken independently. 

After taking this course, you will be able to:

  •  Summarize the history of AI and ML
  •  Explain an overview of many popular AI tools that exist right now
  •  Explain an overview of many popular automation tools that exist right now
  •  Demonstrate how to think about prompt engineering
  •  Illustrate basic frameworks about how AI and automation tie together

*Attendees must earn an 70% or higher on the final course test in order to earn 0.4 CEUs.

Prior to co-founding Plentiful, Dr. Trager led machine learning and geospatial data science teams for several years on large teams, where his guidance was instrumental in advancing data-heavy, technical product development at scale. His entrepreneurial journey includes the leadership of Sustainabilist, a venture that he successfully led to acquisition.

    He earned a Ph.D. from UC Berkeley, where he studied the application of statistical process control (SPC) and other mass production methodologies for energy efficiency in buildings. Jason always has a book recommendation and funny startup ideas – Just ask! He views it as his responsibility to help people find work in sustainable energy fields. His expertise is not just confined to the professional sphere; he is an avid collector of renewable energy art.
