Join us for a webinar on leveraging HVAC tune-ups to meet energy savings goals, and learn how utilities and trade allies can partner to both provide immediate energy savings for customers and grow the trade ally business and workforce. Knowing that the combination of utility savings goals and Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) funding will drive the need for an increase in a qualified workforce, learn how one such partnership has enabled that workforce development.

M3 Services is a Veteran Owned Business that began performing tune-ups in 2019 with three employees, three garden hoses, and no clue. Using their partnership with the utility providers and program implementers, M3 has grown and are now operating in seven states. M3’s experience could and should excite a new generation of trade allies to get into this market, but M3 is only one example of what can happen when you pair utility programs with an eager workforce.

Trade ally partnerships create a win-win-win scenario as utilities continue to meet and hopefully exceed their goals for energy reduction, customers get relief from higher costs and a deeper understanding of what a utility-backed program can do for them, and the goals of workforce development and diversity become achievable.

Learning Objectives:

1. Understand the role of HVAC tune-ups in meeting energy savings goals, as well as the partnership dynamics between utilities and trade allies

2. Evaluate the impact of utility savings goals and IRA funding on the need for workforce development, using M3 Services as a case study to explore strategies for workforce growth in the HVAC industry

3. Apply knowledge of successful trade ally partnerships and workforce development strategies to develop actionable plans for leveraging utility programs to achieve energy reduction goals, enhance customer engagement, and promote workforce diversity

Alex Mouton

Owner, M3 Services

Alex returned to Hot Springs, Arkansas in 2017 after retiring from the United States Air Force. His goal was to help infuse the training and mentorship learned in the military into an employee-centric environment. With M3 he has done this.

Focusing on efficiency and sustainability programs, Alex quickly turned M3 into a niche market and rapid job creator. Alex found eager, hardworking technicians who were looking for a change. Creating this environment and fostering teamwork, Alex has succeeded in creating a hybrid trade; the Energy Reduction Technician.

Professionally. Alex is proud of this accomplishment and the growth of M3’s staff. With every KWH saved and every position added; M3, under Alex’s vision of providing Energy Efficient Solutions, becomes a leading force in our global sustainability goals.

Alex is married to Jennifer and has three children and one grandchild.
