Building stronger systems for a changing climate
The Resilience Topic Committee is where AESP members come together to tackle one of the energy sector’s most urgent challenges: resilience. From climate adaptation to grid hardening, this committee is your go-to space for exploring the technologies, policies, and partnerships that strengthen our systems and communities.
We provide an open forum for collaboration, knowledge-sharing, and bold ideas that span grid resilience, climate resilience, and the critical overlap between the two. Our focus spans everything from DERs to disaster response, with equity and impact at the core.
We explore a wide range of interconnected topics, including:
- Distributed Energy Resources (DERs) – including storage and advanced integration
- Beneficial Electrification – from fleets to community-scale transitions
- Large-Scale & Community Renewables – enabling energy independence and resilience
- Climate Impact Strategies – designing, tracking, measuring, and reporting
- Grid & System Modernization – future-proofing infrastructure and operations
- Environmental Justice – ensuring all communities benefit from resilience investments
- Natural Disaster Preparedness & Response – building adaptive, responsive systems
- Demand Flexibility – enhancing system performance under stress
Whether you’re working on climate vulnerability assessments, leading a grid mod pilot, or shaping equitable disaster response strategies, this committee connects you with the people and ideas shaping a more resilient energy future.
